2020 Hyundai Sonata Powertrain Changes
Along with revised front and rear suspensions, the 2020 Hyundai Sonata sports updated engines. The 1.6L turbocharged engine delivers 180 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque, generating much more horsepower than the outgoing model, which created only 178 horsepower.
The second engine option replaces the 2.4L engine in the 2019 model. It’s a 2.5L four-cylinder engine with 191 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. This engine produces more power than the previous model, which only created 185 horsepower.
